Conquer Death Here and Now

I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.
-by Henry David Thoreau

Philosopher Eknath Eswaran replies: “Everyone will agree that someday the body must grow old, weaken, and drop away, but not many will face the fact that it will happen to them. If we really believe we will die, we will do something about it. If we live each day as if it were our last, we will be preparing for death. When we realize fully that we are not this changing body but the changeless Self who dwells in the body, we conquer death here and now.”
